Meet the Providers
When you’re feeling out of control, overwhelmed or unable to cope effectively, your life may feel out of balance. Talking to someone about the events or circumstances that led to these feelings can be helpful. Understanding the connection between our thoughts, feeling and actions can be life changing. Sometimes we need to peel back the onion a bit, in a safe environment, to be able to move forward. My goal is to work in collaboration with you to help you feel more prepared to adapt to the feeling and challenges you are experiencing and to learn some skills to be more in control and content with your life.
“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” Brene Brown
I believe deeply that we are not meant to go at life alone. We need one another. However, letting others in takes much courage. I will never take for granted the huge privilege it is to be welcomed into a person’s life. My goal as your medical provider is to come alongside people in their life journey, giving tools to better health so that you can thrive in your own unique way. I hope that you can feel welcome to show up here just as you are, and that, together, we can make tomorrow better.
It is so cheesy to say, but I went into mental health to help people, to be able to supply the tools as well as walk through life with you. It is so brave to be vulnerable and ask for help, so for you even being here on this page, I applaud you, seriously! If you do schedule an appointment, regardless of whether it is with me or another provider, I wish you all the best on your journey!
My treatment approach is intentional, collaborative and non-judgmental. I also feel it is important that treatment progresses at the client’s pace. I’ve worked with adults of all walks and ages–diverse in every way imaginable. I would be happy to work with you in psychotherapy and honored to walk alongside you in your personal growth. My intention is that from the very start, you would feel at ease, understood and optimistic. Let’s team up to lessen your concerns and discover a path forward.
I approach therapy through a person-centered and strengths perspective. I trust that each of my clients is the expert of their own lives and feel honored to walk alongside them as they work toward their goals. Therapy is one of the best ways to give back to yourself and experience personal growth. I specialize in issues surrounding family building, marital, and individual life challenges, past and present. I also have extensive experience in adoption, fertility journeys, and pregnancy-related experiences.
My approach to therapy is creating an open and comforting environment where the therapeutic relationship can grow naturally. I believe that my client is the expert of their own life. I believe my role is to be a reflecting mirror to offer guidance and a safe space to process any emotions and events. I am an EMDR-trained therapist and use this as my main modality along with concepts from IFS, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and several other modalities depending on the circumstances.
For over 20 years, I have been privileged to lead clients through life
challenges such as stress and anxiety, depression, grief/loss, abuse/trauma, self-esteem, guilt and shame,
women’s issues, co-dependency and relationship issues. My therapeutic approach to counseling is
client-centered and strengths-based. I love to meet clients where they are and provide an empathetic and safe
environment to process the issues of life. Through a variety of techniques, we will build upon your current
strengths and incorporate new tools to help you gain a fresh perspective on a situation. Transformation is
possible!
I take pride in my patient care. I am an empathetic and thorough medical provider. If a provider can’t listen to
their patients, they shouldn’t have patients. I am confident in my care plans and although I do martial arts and have a great roundhouse, I am not scary at all. I meet patients where they are and I promise you that you will
always leave our visits feeling heard and cared for.
To prospective clients: I am here to listen and act as a guide during your therapy process. You are the expert on your life, and I have expertise in counseling, so we can bring these two things together. If you have mental health needs concerning anxiety, depression, unresolved grief, unresolved trauma, relationship/communication
difficulties, addiction, or uncertainty about your identity, I look forward to working with you to find the underlying causes or influences of your struggles that are interrupting your daily life.
Every human being deserves to live a life of abundance and happiness. To reach this level of alignment within yourself, the bravest thing you can do is start the journey of understanding your story & the effects it has on your mood & daily functioning. I applaud you for taking this first step & looking for a provider to walk alongside you! As we work together, my greatest hope is to offer the support & tools needed for you to reach sustainable peace within. While taking the first step to ask for help can be scary, it is the most courageous thing you can do. Whether we work together in the future or you find a better fit elsewhere, I wish you the best on your journey to your most fulfilling life!
When you work with me, you can expect to have a safe place to talk about current struggles and overall life stressors. I like to provide a judgement-free environment where we can work together to find solutions and more peace/balance in your life.
No matter what your background or experiences are, as a therapist, I look forward to hearing your story and
being able to come alongside you in your journey. I utilize various therapy modalities and approaches and strive
to promote a strengths-based, solution-focused, and individualized experience for clients in sessions. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort, and I strive to foster an environment that promotes transparency and authenticity, and ultimately, healing and growth.
Working in behavioral health care is very important to me; it is important to end the cycle and break the negative stigmas associated with behavioral and mental health concerns. These concerns are all valid and we as people all deserve to feel seen and heard, especially as it pertains to our health. All patients deserve to feel safe and have the courage to express their concerns freely, knowing that they are not being judged and that the entire team is here for them. I am here for them. And we are all here for each other. I am at my best when I am helping others, and my mission is to bring that to life with each interaction through a very intentional warm, empathetic and compassionate approach. I thank you for sharing your journey to healing with us.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) can be a big commitment for patients. This is why as a technician I am fully committed to you and your treatment. I strive to provide a safe space for you whether you have something weighing heavily on your mind or just need someone to laugh about life with. I am proud to work for Family Care Center offering this breakthrough treatment for patients in need.
I’m here to help! I have a passion for ending the stigma surrounding behavioral health and making mental health services more accessible across the board. My goal is to bridge the gap between the therapeutic and administrative sides of care, to provide patients with a seamless, healing experience. I have worked in special education, crisis response and non-profit work and have found I am most happy when I am helping others heal and grow. I am proud of you for starting this journey and am honored to be a part of your team!
